What the STAR method is
Situation — set the scene briefly. Task — what you needed to do. Action — what you specifically did. Result — the outcome, ideally with a number. Most of your answer should be Action and Result.
Build your story bank
Prepare 6–8 stories covering the themes interviewers probe: a success, a failure, a conflict, leadership, influence without authority, and handling pressure. One good story often answers several different questions.
