Article

A BBC correspondent recently traveled to the front lines in southwestern Yemen to document the escalating conflict between government forces and Houthi fighters. The correspondent journeyed with Saudi-backed pro-government soldiers from the city of Taiz toward the disputed mountainous terrain where their control ends and no man's land begins. During the visit, a drone appeared overhead, prompting the group to take immediate cover; within minutes, explosions followed. The experience illustrated the unpredictable and constant danger facing soldiers and civilians alike in this region.
