Article

The Celebrity Traitors is a game show where players compete for prize money while some secretly work as traitors. During Thursday's episode, the first round table meeting became dramatic when actor Richard E Grant made an unusual choice. Instead of hiding his identity, he revealed to the group that he was a traitor. The other players voted him out in an overwhelming landslide, making it the first time in the British version that a traitor was identified at the opening round table.

Suspicious Behavior and Missed Clues

Although the group successfully found Grant, other players showed suspicious behavior that aroused doubt. Julie Hesmondhalgh noticed that Myha'la winked at Grant before voting, which made her suspect traitor-on-traitor collaboration. However, her theory was incorrect. Hesmondhalgh's impassioned speech about finding two traitors in a row reflected her excitement, but the remaining traitors, Maya Jama and James Acaster, had different plans in mind.

A Surprising Recruitment

After Grant's elimination, Jama and Acaster faced a choice: murder a player or recruit someone new. They chose to recruit mathematician Hannah Fry instead of eliminating her. Fry was shocked and delighted by the offer, revealing she had suspected both of them to be faithful players. The next morning, when no one had been murdered, the remaining players realized someone must have been recruited, adding another layer of uncertainty to the competition.

  4. What does James Acaster's comment about the Sugababes suggest about how quickly things are changing in the game?
  5. How might the group's discovery that someone was recruited instead of murdered affect their strategy at the next round table meeting?
