Article

James Bourne, guitarist for the British band Busted, recently revealed that his younger brother Chris donated one of his kidneys to save his life. Bourne, now 43, had to leave the band's tour in September 2025 when doctors told him his condition was serious and he had only a few years to live. Chris stepped in to replace him during the tour and then made the extraordinary decision to help his brother through organ donation.

The Recovery Process

Both brothers have now recovered from their transplant operations. Bourne expressed gratitude for his brother's sacrifice, calling him a hero and noting how much better he already feels after the surgery. He acknowledged that he will need more time to fully recover, but he wanted to share the news publicly. Chris simply posted online: We did it brother, showing the close bond between the two siblings.

Busted's Career

Bourne rose to fame in the early 2000s as part of Busted, alongside Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis. The band achieved great success with eight top 10 hits and four number one singles in the UK before splitting in 2005. The band reunited in 2015, and Bourne has continued his music career by writing songs for other artists and leading his own musical projects.
