James Bourne, guitarist and songwriter for the punk-pop band Busted, stepped away from a major arena tour in September 2025 after doctors informed him his condition was serious and he had only a few years to live. He was replaced on the tour by his younger brother Chris, who filled in for the remaining performances alongside McFly. Bourne has since undergone a kidney transplant, with Chris donating one of his own kidneys to save his brother's life. Both brothers are now recovering from their surgical procedures.
