Article

Companies like Amazon now use drones to deliver packages. These drones fly over homes and neighborhoods. Many people do not like the noise they make. The drones make a loud buzzing sound. Some people cannot enjoy their gardens or parks anymore.

Why is drone noise a problem?

Drone noise is different from car or plane noise. A drone's sound is sudden and sharp. It can wake you up inside your home. People hear it come, pass over them, and leave. Even when other sounds are quiet, a drone's buzz stands out. Some neighborhoods never had airplane noise before. Now they have drones overhead every day.

Can companies make drones quieter?

Some companies are working on quieter drones. One company puts the spinning blades inside a special pod. This pod reduces the noise by two-thirds. Better technology can help solve this problem. Soon, deliveries by drone may be much less annoying.
