Microsoft reported quarterly profits exceeding $36.6 billion for the three months ending in September, a result announced just days after the company unveiled plans to reduce its workforce by more than a quarter. The technology giant offered voluntary buyouts to approximately 60,000 employees across Canada, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. This workforce reduction reflects Microsoft's effort to manage costs while simultaneously investing billions into artificial intelligence infrastructure and development. The company currently employs more than 220,000 people globally, making this a significant restructuring effort.
