Article

The NHS will soon offer patients a new type of blood test at about 200 GP surgeries across England. These tests can check for several cancers at once by looking for proteins or DNA fragments in the blood. The main goal is to catch hard-to-diagnose cancers, such as pancreatic, liver, and ovarian cancer, much earlier than usual. Patients aged 45 and older with symptoms like abdominal pain or persistent bloating will be eligible for the trial.
