A British doctor who contracted Ebola while working in the Democratic Republic of Congo has been transported to the Royal Free Hospital in north London for treatment. The man arrived at RAF Northolt before a carefully coordinated convoy moved him to a specialized infectious diseases unit. This marks the first confirmed case of a UK national acquiring Ebola during the current outbreak in DR Congo, which has caused over 5,000 deaths since May. Health officials emphasize that established protocols are in place and that public risk remains low despite the virus's severity.
