Introducing Kerr University Daily News: Free Daily English Lessons Built From Real World News

For years, my students told me the same thing: textbooks feel dead. The English inside them was written a decade ago, about nothing that is happening now. Meanwhile, the language my students actually need - the English of real business, real politics, real science and culture - is being written fresh every single morning, in the news.

What it is

Every day, our system takes real, current news and rewrites it as an original, simplified English lesson. Not a copy of the article - a clean retelling in plain English, built for learners. Each lesson gives you:

• A two-minute audio story read in a natural, professional voice - American, British, or Australian - so you train your ear on real accents.
• Six key vocabulary words, each with pronunciation, part of speech, a simple definition, an example sentence, and a speaker button to hear every word and example on demand.
• Five discussion questions to turn reading into speaking.
• A difficulty rating from 4 to 9, scored automatically by how challenging the story actually reads.

It spans five categories - Business & Politics, Science & Technology, Health & Lifestyle, Culture & Society, and Travel & Experiences - and a fresh story lands in each one every day.
