The Founder's Story
The man who turned a global career into a global classroom
Digby R. Kerr — BA, MBA
Some people collect titles. Digby R. Kerr collected lessons. Across decades and continents — from the trading floors of global commerce to the quiet discipline of writing twelve books — he learned that the most valuable thing a person can own is not a position, but the wisdom of having earned one.
In 2007 he launched his own global logistics platform and ran it for fifteen years, steering international operations through every kind of market and every kind of pressure. He built teams, won enterprise clients, and learned the languages of sales, strategy, marketing, and leadership the only way that truly sticks — by being responsible for the outcome.
“Degrees open the first door. But it's lived experience — the wins, the losses, the recovery — that teaches you how to walk through every door after that.”
When he stepped back from logistics in 2022, he didn't retire. He returned to the thing that had quietly shaped everything: education. He had mentored professionals for years on the side — and he kept noticing the same truth. Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not. A brilliant engineer in São Paulo, a fearless founder in Lagos, an ambitious graduate in Seoul — all held back by the same invisible wall: the confidence to communicate, and the guidance of someone who had already walked the road.
So he built a university with no walls. Kerr University™ was founded on a single, stubborn belief: that world-class mentorship and the power of Business English should never depend on geography, income, or who you happen to know. One hour a week. One mentor who has actually done it. One method designed to make you fluent and effective from day one.
Today, alongside his publishing house DKNY Publishing™ and his work as a Top Mentor™ and Top Tutor™ to professionals and Fortune-level companies, Digby pours his experience into students across the globe — paying forward the education the world once gave him.
“Every student who walks through these virtual doors carries the potential to change their world. My job — my privilege — is to help them see it.”
— Digby R. Kerr
